About

Celebrating America

A patriotic (not political) program that helps students celebrate America’s 250th anniversary through song.

Celebrating America gives teachers and schools everything they need to prepare a meaningful patriotic school event, from songs and music videos to sheet music and a read-along script.

The Program

Celebrating America is a collection of songs and teaching materials for students to perform for special occasions such as Constitution Day or Veterans Day. It is presented by ResilientYOU and America250 Utah in celebration of our nation’s 250th anniversary.

The program features songs from the “Something Good for Kids” music series, including “I Pledge Allegiance,” a new song by Steve James written to commemorate America’s 250th anniversary.

You may use the complete program or select only the songs and materials that best fit your classroom and school needs.

Who We Are

Celebrating America is presented by ResilientYOU in partnership with America250 Utah, as part of Utah’s celebration of our nation’s 250th anniversary.

ResilientYOU was founded by Steve and Lisa James, national presenters, recording artists and producers, together with co-founder Mitch Hall. Their work grows out of a deep commitment to education, love of country, and helping address today’s mental health crisis in children.

Steve James brings 40 years of experience producing family programming, including the “America, Our Home” and “Hope for the Holidays” television specials, which have aired on the American Forces Network (AFN) and other select channels.

Bring Celebrating America to Your School

On the Celebrating America Elementary Assembly Tour 2026–27, Steve and Lisa James bring the program to life in a live school assembly, with special guest Brittany, host of the hit series “Something Good for Kids.” The assembly features nationally recognized, award-winning songs from the Utah elementary curriculum.

Subsidized for Utah schools: $800 (regularly $1,600).
